What is Trigger Point Therapy?
A trigger point is commonly known as a tight knot like area within the muscle that can cause pain in other areas of the body; otherwise known as referred pain. Trigger Point Therapy works by finding the trigger point within the muscle and releasing to provide relief not only to the muscle, but also to referred pain points.

What causes a trigger point?
When your muscles are stressed or injured, they can often form trigger points, which can feel like a tight knot has developed within the muscles. This can be caused by injuries, physical trauma, body compensation and postural malalignment.
Is Trigger Point Therapy painful?
Trigger Point Therapy will usually consist of locating and pressing on a trigger point within a muscle/s. Trigger points are sensitive areas of muscle and if discomfort is experienced, your Massage Therapist will work with you to manage this appropriately.
